Hello everyone! Today is Wednesday, which means it’s time to do the three Ws. For those who don’t know, the three Ws are:What did you recently finish reading? What are you currently reading? What are you reading next?

What I Recently Finished:

Graceling by Kristin Cashore. This was a book I wanted to enjoy, but didn’t. It started off with a great plot, but lost its way. The characters were not very compelling either.

What I’m Currently Reading:

Camp Zero by Michelle Min Sterling. I’m about 75% of the way through this book and I’m enjoying it so far. It has a very compelling story so far and while it wasn’t the book I expected it to be, it’s been an enjoyable read. I definitely wasn’t expecting it to touch on some of the themes that are central to the story.

The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O’Farrell. I’m about 100 pages into this novel. I like the main character so far, but I’m undecided about the plot. The story is moving slowly so far, but I’m hoping it will soon pick up.

What am I reading next:

Furyborn by Claire Legrand. This book has been on my list for a while. I’ve heard great things about this book and I’m excited to finally read this one for myself. A close friend recommended this series and I thought I’d give it a shot.

Hello everyone! Today is Wednesday, which means it’s time to do the three Ws. For those who don’t know, the three Ws are:What did you recently finish reading? What are you currently reading? What are you reading next?

What I Recently Finished:

Within These Wicked Walls by Lauren Blackwood. I liked this book overall, but it missed at a few points for me. It was a great gothic horror, but didn’t really work as a retelling of Jane Eyre which is how the blurb describes it.

We Weren’t Looking to be Found by Stephanie Kuehn. I just finished this book, so I haven’t had time to form my full and complete thoughts on it. Still, I loved this book. It’s a bit of a heavy read, but the story is powerful and raw. The writing is amazing and the author made a book about serious issues not feel “preachy”.

What I’m Currently Reading:

The Druid by Jeff Wheeler. I’m about 100 pages into this novel. I like the characters so far, but I’m undecided about the plot. The story is moving slowly so far, but I’m hoping it will soon pick up.

What am I reading next:

The Order of the Pure Moon Reflected In Water by Zen Cho. This novella has a very interesting blurb. It doesn’t provide too much information about the story, and that’s compelling to me. I also saw it was nominated for a few different awards and I want to know if this book lives up to expectations.

What I Recently Finished:

The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco. I loved the world of this book, as well as the rich story the author told.

What I’m Currently Reading:

The Reckoning by D.M. Taylor. I’m about halfway through this sci-fi thriller. I just reached a huge twist in the story, and depending on how it works out, I’ll either love this book or be severely disappointed.

The Dragon Republic by R.F. Kuang. I’m about 400 pages into this book. So far, I’m liking this book as much as I liked The Poppy War. I can’t wait to see where this story is headed.

What am I reading next:

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. This one has been on my TBR for a while, and I’m going to finally read it. The premise sounds interesting and everyone seems to praise it, so I’m hoping I enjoy it.

What I Recently Finished:

The Gathering Storm

The Gathering Storm by Robert Jordan & Brandon Sanderson. This is the twelfth book in The Wheel of Time. I’ve almost finished the series, and this is my first time reading and I’m very excited to be so close to the conclusion (which everyone tells me is fantastic).

Primordial Earth #1 (The Extinction Series)

Primordial Earth by Baileigh Higgins. This was just a fun, science fiction adventure about a girl trying to survive a world of dinosaurs.

What I’m Currently Reading:

Woven in Moonlight (Woven in Moonlight, #1)

Woven in Moonlight by Isabel Ibanez. This fantasy novel was inspired by Bolivian history. This book has been on my TBR for a few weeks. I’m about halfway through the novel and enjoying it so far. The book has a very interesting magic system and I’m really enjoying the writing style of this author.

What am I reading next:

The Other

The Other by Matthew Buscemi. The blurb for this book was very intriguing to me. I’ve also heard great things about this author and wanted to try some of his work.

What I Recently Finished:

Expedition (Galactic Neighborhood, #1)

Expedition by Alexander Elliott. I’ve been trying to read more science fiction books, and I love a good first contact story, so this book was hard for me resist.

Where'd You Go, Bernadette

Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple. I finally read this book, after everyone and their mother told me that I needed to read it. I enjoyed it for the most part and found the story pretty amusing.

What I’m Currently Reading:

Crossroads of Twilight (The Wheel of Time, #10)

Crossroads of Twilight by Robert Jordan. This is the tenth book in The Wheel of Time. I’m currently about 3/4 of the way through the book, and I’m hoping to finish it by next week.

Sleeping Giants (Themis Files, #1)

Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel. This one has been on my TBR for a while and I’ve decided to finally read it. It’s about the search for strange artifacts and the quest to understand them after one is discovered in South Dakota, with a science fiction twist and that sounds pretty good to me.

What am I reading next:

The Star-Touched Queen (The Star-Touched Queen, #1)

The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi. I’ve been looking for fantasy novels inspired by culture/mythology/folklore that isn’t European and this was recommended to me. The plot sounds interesting based on the blurb and I’m hoping I’ll enjoy this book.

What I Recently Finished:

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. I love Blade Runner and decided that I should read the novel that inspired it.

What I’m Currently Reading:

Winter's Heart (The Wheel of Time, #9)

Winter’s Heart by Robert Jordan. This is the ninth book in The Wheel of Time. I’m currently about 1/3 of the way through the book, and I’m hoping to finish it by the end of the year.

Vassa in the Night

Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter. This novel is a retelling of the Russian folktale “Vassilissa the Beautiful” taking place in Brooklyn. I’m loving this book so far and how the author adapted the story elements from the folktale into an urban fantasy story.

What am I reading next:

Caraval (Caraval, #1)

Caraval by Stephanie Garber. I’ve had a number of people insist that I read this novel. I’ve finally decided to give in and see why I’ve had so many people recommend this book to me. The plot sounds interesting based on the blurb and I’m hoping I’ll enjoy this book.

What I’m Currently Reading:

White Elephant (Code Black, #2) The Hobbit

What am I reading next:

The Elysian Prophecy

The Elysian Prophecy by Vivien Reis is my next read. I don’t know much about it, but the cover art and description intrigued me. I’m also going to be starting The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring once I finish The Hobbit, but I expect that to take me quite a bit.
